Thank you for seeking the endorsement of the Independence Party of Minnesota. The Party is inclusive and stands for government and political leadership that serve the highest interests of our state. We oppose politics based on self-interest, extremism, or special interest and advocate for public policy that prepares Minnesota for a better future. We support political leaders who embrace the values and goals described in our Principals and Platform. The Candidate Endorsement Packet contains materials including the Candidate Endorsement Application form you will need to request endorsement.
After you complete and return the Candidate Endorsement Application, you will be contacted to discuss screening. A screening committee will review your application and provide you an opportunity to express why you should receive the IP endorsement. Upon completion of the interview, the committee will prepare a short fact report based on your interview. This report will not have a recommendation for or against endorsement. It will only summarize the interview information. You will be given an opportunity to review and check the accuracy of the report, and it will be made available to all of the delegates at the endorsing convention.
The purpose of this screening process is to create a standardized and orderly process that is transparent and fair to all candidates and helps to make the Independence Party of Minnesota endorsement more significant.
