The 8th Congressional District of the Independence Party held its Convention in Duluth on Saturday, April 23, 2011. As well as conducting routine business, elections were held for Officer posts for three new Legislative District organizations.
Officer elections were held for CD 8, Senate District 7 and Legislative Districts 5A and 5B. The results of those elections are:
For CD 8, Don Waller was elected Chair, Caroline Soyring was elected Vice-Chair, and PJ Richardson was elected Secretary/Treasurer.
For Senate District 7, Tony Salls was elected Chair, Chris O’Brian was elected Vice-Chair, and Dexter Baxter was elected Secretary/Treasurer.
For Legislative District 5A, Patty Abate was elected Chair, and Janine Johnson was elected Secretary/Treasurer.
For Legislative District 5B, Cynthia Kafut-Hagen was elected Chair, and Haley Rupar was elected Secretary/Treasurer.
