What does priority pay down of the national debt mean?
It's a core value that created this party. It means that because of national, economic, and citizen security we advocate directing all fiscal gains by government to the debt first. Budget cuts shall be used to pay down debt first, not used for tax cuts first like the Republicans often want. Tax increases shall be used to pay down the debt first, not used for increased spending first like the Democrats want.This is a belief that sets us apart. A belief that stewardship to the future matters more than short term political gain. Neither the Democrats nor Republicans believe in that with regard to debt.
