Independence Minnesota

Blog

Jim Gibson, Jim Moore, Stephen Williams, John Binkowski, Tammy Lee, Robert Fitzgerald, Tim Penny, Peter Hutchinson, Bob Anderson, David Dillon and many others never did it....so why is one candidate going ad hominem this year?

I came into this year fairly open to all candidates. A couple of my favorites decided not to run. What I really appreciate about this party is that candidates engage in selling issues and solutions to voters...not ad hominem attacks. Oddly enough an ad hominem attack came today, by a candidate claiming to be a true independent and who questions the endorsed candidate's background. This is very upsetting, especially considering the odd timing of coming out when a court dismissed Republican complaints.

In 2000 I helped make a Jim Gibson for U.S. Senate commercial. We showed Jim dodging the mud being thrown by candidates from the two old parties and sticking to the issues. I truly think that is the Independence spirit. The names I mentioned above would probably agree.

Ad hominem

I had to look this up!

"Main Entry: 1ad ho·mi·nem
Pronunciation: (ˈ)ad-ˈhä-mə-ˌnem, -nəm
Function: adjective
Etymology: New Latin, literally, to the person
Date: 1598
1 : appealing to feelings or prejudices rather than intellect
2 : marked by or being an attack on an opponent's character rather than by an answer to the contentions made

I agree

There is no place in the Independence Party for baseless, angry attacks. It's time to dismiss such people and move on.

We can help Steve Carlson get elected U.S. Congress 1st (IP) easy

My idea is simple it will help rebuild the Independent Party of Minnesota by maybe giving your party a U.S. Congressman in Washington. This will also help your election for Governor in November.

IF YOU CAN GET A FEW THOUSAND INDEPENDENT MEMBERS who live in the 4th CD TO VOTE FOR JACK SHEPARD AND ELIMINATE TERESA COLLETT in gop primary on aug. 10.

Then your Independent party candidate for the 4th Congressional district WILL GET 150,000 REPUBLICANS TO VOTE FOR him only IF TERESA COLLETT'S NAME IS NOT ON THE NOV. 2 GENERAL ELECTION BALLOT-

It is an obvious thing to do; being in my mind you are the leader of the Independent Party of Minnesota.

Please contact all members of the Independent Party that live in the 4th Congressional District –( St. Paul and Suburbs) and ask them to ELIMINATE TERESA COLLETT in the GOP Congressional Primary for the 4th District because then your Independent Party Candidate Steve Carlson WILL GET 150,000 REPUBLICANS TO VOTE FOR him.

Then Steve Carlson could just almost become the highest level Independent Party political office holder in America as a U.S. Congressman from the 4th District.

All the confusion could also help your election for Governor. Tom Emmer is in trouble we will see how the polls will be closer to the Nov. General election.

You are right the GOP is too far out of the mainstream!

I wish you my Good Luck in your election for Governor.

Steve Carlson has an email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it "ABE LINCOLN" >>>>>>>>SOUNDS REPUBLICAN HAPPY INDEPENDENT PARTY DAY to the independent Party

YOUR Independent party has NO PRIMARY Election for the 4th Congressional district

SO YOU CAN GET YOUR Independent party TROOPS OUT>>AND NO WAY WILL THE GOP VOTE FOR JACK SHEPARD IN THE GENRAL ELECTION THEY WILL ALL VOTE FOR YOUR independent Party Us Congressional candidate Steve Carlson. This I hope would liven up the whole independent party troops and liven them up to vote for you for Governor.

Sincerely

Jack Shepard

I hope someday to come home to clear my name but at 64 years old my time is passing too fast, at least by voting for Jack Shepard and if I eliminate Teresa Collett; I hope the press will be kinder and look into my 30 year old case. But for your Independent party Of Minnesota it is a 100% Winner, with a negotiated deal with Tony Sutton GOP Chair all 150,000 votes of the GOP in the 4th CD will vote for your Independent Candidate Steve Carlson which could end 60+ years of DFL control of the 4th Congressional District- please spread the word when you are out campaign good luck again.
